Chasing The Winds Of Fall

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….

I LOVE SUMMER.

I am in no way trying to speed it along. I love bits and parts of every season but summer is a clear favorite.

That being said, after Emily and I recently shared some of our Christmas decor from last year and talked about what we might want to do this year for Christmas (thanks Christmas in July for making us even go there!), we realized that maybe we should actually be BEGINNING to mull over some of the things we MIGHT want to do this year for our Fall decor!

We decided on the spot that a blog post was in order.

In full transparency I quickly realized that I didn’t do such a good job photographing my home last fall. I have photos of projects I did and a few rooms that we shared on the blog but I have quite a few gaps where I didn’t photograph an entire room and so on.

Oooopppssss!

My first plan is to do better this year! I will share each room as well as a final full home tour. I also solemnly swear that I will (picture my hand raised) put some fall decor in every room and share them all this year, not just the main public spaces. So help me…..

This tablescape was a favorite and still remains one. It’s so simple with just hints of cozy fall vibes in the colors used. This was from fall 2019….is it possible it was that long ago already? I still remember vividly making those little lace cutlery pouches.

Last year I actually added a LITTLE bit of decor in my master bedroom….or at least I showed a little of it.

I’m loving the non-traditional colors I’ve started moving to for my fall decor and all the natural elements. It’s something I plan to go even further with because it really suits my home and my style.

My fall kitchen last year was very neutral and serene. This theme will be continued in here this year. I promise to take a lot more pics though….

Last fall I got started DIYing pumpkins in earnest. Emily and I shared a variety of ways to create simple fall decor as well as how to transition from summer to fall gradually. We want to share that again this year.

Every little nook and cranny gets some fall but the fall vibes in this powder room will be all about the creams and blush tones this year.

Remember the metal leaves I made last year from soda cans? I got the idea straight from Emily and really liked how they turned out.

Last year I started adding a lot of wheat in tiny bits here and there and I loved it. There’s just something about the color and texture that works perfectly with the style in my home.

I’m really hoping that I can get my act together and finally finish a couple projects in my master bedroom that I’ve been working on for a while BEFORE I start my fall decor. That way I can share a whole lot more pics with you!

I am ridiculously excited to think about styling Aurora for fall and Christmas this year. It’s gonna be piles and piles of fun! She will likely see a bit of the wheat, decorative corn and non-traditional colors of pumpkins that my bookcase did last year.

Last year’s tablescape was probably my favorite fall tablescape so far. The soft greens and pinks enhanced by the whites and creams just gave me all the feels.

Pssstttt! Just between us….

I already bought my first fall decor item today……I’ll show you what it is eventually so don’t go far.
