French Vintage Friday – Pass The Salt, Please

I’m so glad you’re here today! I’ve been waiting for you.

Earlier this week I took a little trip to a junk shop nearby that I like to visit every now and then. It’s not for the faint of heart. If you can’t see past dust and dirt to see the potential in a piece then you probably wouldn’t do well to visit this place.

But….

If you can, its always loaded with treasures. I’ve found some of my favorite old books at this shop all tucked away and forgotten. The owner said that nobody is interested in books anymore and that he often doesn’t even take the books when he sees them at estate sales and things because he knows they won’t sell. Can you even imagine that?

Anyways so I went to this junk shop the other day because I was looking for something in particular for my coffee nook that I am in the middle of making over. I can’t tell you exactly what I was looking for – I’ll share that really soon. Probably in the next few days.

While ambling through something bright and shiny caught my eye. I’d make a good crow!

In fairness I WAS looking for something for my coffee nook. It wasn’t decor but I mean I’m going to need some of that soon!

Aren’t these gold salt and pepper shakers adorable? They’ll add such a wonderful bright splash of color to table settings but mostly to my coffee nook shelves! I can envision it even now!

I’ve already had a marvelous time sticking there here and there all around my kitchen and dining room and I can only imagine how often they’ll be moved all around in the months to come!

Until I have my coffee nook finished I think they’ll hang out with Aurora

I’ll be honest – I don’t know anything about these or when they may have been made. I did search online and everything I found that looked like these in terms of style and material was definitely vintage and actually quite old.

Are these vintage?

Are they vintage replicas?

I don’t know. They are very heavy and have no stamp or markings on them for me to better identify them.

Either way I don’t care. I like the look of them and I can’t wait to use them in all sorts of ways.

Every way except for salt and pepper, to be truthful!
