French Vintage Friday – Oh Bring Us Some Figgy Pudding…

Oh bring us some figgy pudding, oh bring us some figgy pudding, oh bring us some figgy pudding and bring it out here!

Have you ever had figgy pudding?

I have. It wasn’t my favorite dessert I’ve ever had (I mean, what can compare to cheesecake, am I right?) but it really wasn’t bad. I need to make some this year at Christmas and maybe I’ll try one of these recipes.

Plum Duff Pudding from Scottish Recipes

I am one of the few people who loves fruitcake (yes, I just said that) and there are definite similarities between fruitcake and figgy pudding or plum pudding or Christmas pudding or whatever you want to call it.

That brings me to my share for this week.

I found this while thrifting some time ago. I know it isn’t truly vintage, it’s just made to look sort of vintage. That said I love the feelings it evokes of an old time Christmas and all the cozy that comes along with it. It not only makes me recall great Christmas memories but makes me want to try even harder this year to make some new ones.

Now this isn’t meant to be a Christmas post and it isn’t. I have this bowl sitting out in my dining room right now and I intend to use it for a serving dish for all sorts of things.

And now I’d like to know if you’ve ever had figgy pudding or if you ever intend to try it?
