I’m not sure what it is about coffee or coffee cake but I find both really comforting. To be honest, I prefer my coffee creamer to the actual coffee and if I wasn’t really watching my carbs and sugars right now to drop some unwanted pounds, I’d still be putting a little bit of coffee in my creamer. That’s my favorite way to drink it!
That said, is there anything nicer than a lovely piece of coffee cake? Okay cheesecake is right up there on my list too but honestly coffee cake is basically the only kind of cake I like. I’m not a cake person normally. Like I will take birthday cake, scrape all the icing off and eat a bite or two and that’s all for me.
But coffee cake?

Blueberry Coffee Cake
So basically when I spied this lovely looking Blueberry Coffee Cake recipe this past week I knew I’d have to try it at some point. I will choose a special occasion because I’m avoiding carbs right now but I WILL make an exception for this recipe at some point. Soon.
Crystal Ceiling Mount Light Fixture
Remember how I said I have so many light fixtures I need to replace with something much nicer? Well I have one less that needs replacing as of a little while ago. I broke down and ordered this light fixture from Amazon after being unable to find anything I liked that would work in my front entry that was brass. Or at least not one that wouldn’t break the bank. I thought I’d take a chance but for the price of this one I was convinced it would be one that I wouldn’t be happy with.
I couldn’t have been more wrong. It comes without any of the crystals attached so it was super easy to stuff some paper towels into the bulb receptacles so as not to get paint in them.
That’s right, paint! I sprayed the base with some gold spray paint, waited for it to dry really well, installed it and then carefully attached all the crystals.
I just love how it turned out. The picture doesn’t do it justice. It’s pretty when the light is off, sparkly and amazing when the light is on and overall just perfect for the space. I will definitely be buying a few more of these fixtures for a couple other places in my home!

Acorn Twinkle Lights
Okay I know it isn’t fall YET but it’s coming. Personally I like to plan stuff out in advance so that when the day comes that I see a leaf or two changing color and that smell is in the air, all I have to do is make myself a Pumpkin Spice Latte and dig out my bins of fall decor and have a party! I think these little acorn lights would be absolutely adorable in my hutch! Or on my mantel. Or maybe in my open cabinets. What about on my French buffet? I haven’t even gotten to the rooms upstairs yet! I know, right?
