French Vintage Friday – Jack O’Lantern Has Come To Stay!

Has he visited you yet?

Normally he doesn’t stop by my house. Maybe I have too many pumpkins everywhere and he feels a little overwhelmed. This year he stopped by early however, before all the pumpkins showed up and he seems to want to hang around for good!

I’m not minding at all.

It started with little Jack that came a week or so ago…..he was shabby and orange and not something you’d normally see at my house. I asked him if he wanted a shower and change of clothes and he did and I couldn’t believe the transformation a little shower and shave can bring!

The same thing happened with his traveling buddy….

…who actually turned out to be Jill O’Lantern!

You can see these transformations and several others on my recent blog post Cozy Autumn Days Were Made For Crafts.

Then yesterday there was another knock at my door and before I knew it I was welcoming another member of the O’Lantern family!

This one is a rather jolly chap. Always smiling and cracking jokes. He sure lights up whenever nightfall comes along.

He found a place to call home in my open kitchen shelves and seems to be very happy there. He looked a wee bit lonely at first though so I thought I’d add some friends and some fall charm to make him feel right at home so perhaps he would choose to stay permanently as well….

Pink pumpkins turned into vases, the tiniest velvet pumpkins you ever did see….

Lots and lots of colorful fall leaves….

…and some flowers. Apparently this jolly fellow really likes flowers. Particularly hydrangeas and sunflowers!

The O’Lantern family is very large, by the way. I have trouble keeping it all straight but if I recall this fellow is a 2nd cousin?

I think it makes for a pretty cozy space in my kitchen and it makes me smile every time I look over at this space.

Excuse me while I go answer my door….I just heard the doorbell ring.

Oh wow! Yet another member of the O’Lantern family! Whatever will I do with this one?

Don’t go far and I’ll show you…..

While I’m getting him settled in….

Why not pop over and see how Emily styled her open kitchen shelves? I know it’s gonna amaze and inspire me. Her home always does! Just click on the photo below.

But hurry back. I’ll have hot apple cider waiting and another tale to tell of the O’Lantern clan!
