A Cup Of Inspiration – Volume 9

Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay not quite but what with Canada celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, I thought I’d share things on that topic today. Besides that will give you some advance warning to be able to get your items/ingredients and make your plans in time for the US Thanksgiving.

When it comes to inspiration for setting your Thanksgiving tablescape, there are endless ideas but I’ll share a few I liked just this week. Don’t you just love mixing metals? Especially in the fall? I’ve always loved that look rather than everything matching.

Do you love neutral fall colors as much as I do? Well in this blog post the author shares 27 neutral fall tablescapes.

Yes, you read that correctly. 27!

My favorite source for inspiration when it comes to tablescapes at ANY time of the year, is my sweet friend Emily. She always sets the most amazing tables! Since we are talking about Thanksgiving though I thought I’d share 2 of my favorites from her Fall/Thanksgiving tablescapes.

This is one she did for Thanksgiving in 2020.

Quite possibly my favorite Thanksgiving tablescape to date is this one. It”s from a blog post where she shows a whole bunch of different ideas for Fall and Thanksgiving Tablescapes and you don’t want to miss a single idea!

If I’m ever feeling a little un-inspired while setting a table, I simply pop over to Emily’s blog or her Instagram feed and start scrolling and before long inspiration always strikes!

Now for some recipes!

We always had sweet potatoes as part of our Thanksgiving dinner when I was growing up and I’ve sort of gotten away from that since my kids aren’t very fond of sweet potatoes. I think I might make this recipe for Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes this year anyways since it looks SO yummy!

I’ve been enjoying salads with fruit in them more and more lately and especially when they’re made with spinach. I’m still not a huge fan of arugula….Anyways this Apple Cranberry Spinach Salad looked really light and refreshing which is perfect when paired with a huge meal like Thanksgiving dinner.

I’m not sure what it is about the roasted veggies but they always look so yummy to me. So much better than a lot of the traditionally cooked vegetables. Anyways I couldn’t pass by these Roasted Garlic Parmesan Carrots and I’m definitely going to be trying them soon.

In case you missed any of my posts…

Here is what I blogged about this week….

Every Tuesday evening I share the Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop which is a great place to find all sorts of creative inspiration linked up by dozens of talented bloggers.

I took Mr Tom Turkey and gave him a fabulous makeover this week so that he’s all handsome for his big day!

We talked about the O’Lantern family and how they’ve been dropping in on me a lot this year and I shared my open cabinet in my kitchen with its cozy fall decor.

Thanks for stopping by again for coffee and conversation. See you next Sunday!
