In The Garden

My favorite thing about this time of year is being outside the better part of every day. Yes, my house suffers a little. My projects inside take longer to complete. My floors maybe don’t get washed quite as often and you’ll find a few more things laying around on my countertops.

But I’ll be outside watering my flowers and trimming them and feeding them and admiring them. I will be literally watching things grow in my flower garden and in my vegetable garden. I think it comes from my farm roots!

I love cutting flowers and arranging beautiful bouquets to enjoy.

Isn’t this chamomile cool looking? Once it dries (my garden was just watered) the little white petals fluff back out and it looks like a tiny little minuscule daisy! I like using herbs in my arrangements because they add a different element as well as a wonderful scent. They are great for more than tea and cooking.

Voila!

Now you think I made this arrangement for my dining table, right?

Sure it could go there.

It would look lovely anywhere.

Do you think I’m crazy to put a flower arrangement mere feet from the garden I cut them from?

Maybe…..but personally I like my outdoor spaces to feel as inviting and cozy as my indoor spaces. Like they are simply an extension of my living room or some other space.

After all, I spend a lot of time out here this time of year and right up until it freezes.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you come visit again soon. As for me, I’ll just be sitting here rocking on my porch and enjoying my little arrangement.

I love this flower arrangement!!! I have always loved your yellow roses, and planted one recently. It’s my “Tara” rose! I’m so excited for it to grow and be covered in these dreamy blooms! Yay for flower season.!!

My sister’s favorite flower was a yellow rose so I’ve planted several over the past few years. I plant something every year in memory of her and twice now it’s been a yellow rose. My latest one, that I planted this year, my dogs are trying to kill by peeing on it! There are some little male dogs that are going to find themselves in really big trouble if they don’t stop it soon! If we keep this up, by the way, pretty soon our yards are gonna be just the same! lol

Awww I’m so glad you stopped by, Joyce. Those yellow roses are from a bush I planted in honor of my late sister – they were her favorite flowers. Can’t remember if I mentioned that in the blog post or not. Aren’t rocking chairs the best for a porch? I dream of a huge southern porch full of rocking chairs and hanging ferns! Sigh…..
