I’ve always thought lanterns are so versatile and really can be used all year round in so many ways.
With candles.
With flowers.
With pinecones or acorns.
With small Christmas ornaments.
With small, unique collectibles.
You see not only do they look lovely with candles, they also look amazing FILLED with something.
I fill my lanterns about as often as I use them for actual light of some kind.
So when I saw these lanterns recently for $6.99 I thought “how cute” and pictured all sorts of things I could do with them. Then I walked away and continued my shopping.
A couple days later I saw them again but THIS time they were only $2.10 on sale and I couldn’t walk away this time. Not for that price.
Not when I had a plan! Now this plan was so ridiculously simple that I almost didn’t share it for one of the 12 DIY’s Of Christmas but then reconsidered.
I know you think they were just ready to have the candles put inside, right?
Not to me they weren’t.
I like black well enough as a color but not for decor most of the time. That said, I took them all apart and removed the glass piecesโฆ.
And grabbed a can of spray paint inโฆ..you guessed it!
Gold.
Oh they look better already!
All back together again ready to style however I wish!
I do actually put candles in them sometimesโฆ.
Just not most of the time.
Not every project has to be rocket scienceโฆ.
Until next time,
