French Vintage Friday – Neutral Fall Wreath

Y’all might recall that I mentioned having recently painted my front door.

Again….

Yes, I change the color of my front door fairly often but honestly it’s one of the quickest and cheapest ways to change up the look of the front porch.

Over the years with different door colors I have revamped my old fall wreath many times. I started by removing some of the large bright yellow sunflowers. Another year I painted the leaves on the wreath to make it more in keeping with my neutral fall style rather than the bright traditional fall colors. This year it was time for something different altogether.

I bought a simple grapevine wreath with some of the crusty dried leaves still on it. It was only $5.99 at Hobby Lobby and I plan to use it over and over.

Here’s how!

I don’t glue anything on the wreath. Everything is wired on or tucked in so can easily be removed without any damage to the wreath.

I tucked in clumps of the beautiful blonde colored leaves that I adore and a few pods that I had left over from another wreath I had at one point.

Next I tucked in these little fuzzy grass stems for some more neutral color and some lovely texture!

The final step was to tuck in the little green pumpkin that I chose as the focal point of the wreath and the color inspiration for some of my porch decor this year…..I added 3 faux sunflowers that are a very unusual neutral color with hints of a pinkish color…..there is a reason for that…..you’ll see!

Make sure to keep the stems of your items fairly long so that they can be tucked into the wreath well. If not you will risk them fall out but with longer stems I never have any issue with that. The door gets slammed. I get a lot of windstorms where I live. It still holds firm.

The ribbon I initially put on as a hanger was too yellow/green so I swapped it out for a different velvet ribbon that’s just the right color.

I can’t show you the wreath ON the front door because that’s another project for another day. However this wreath literally took about 5 minutes to put together and I love how it looks on my front door.

Until next time,

Update…

Since I have now shared my new front door color I can go ahead and show you the wreath ON the front door.
