French Vintage Friday – Corbels

If you have read many of my blog posts or seen many of my Instagram pics then you probably already know I have a bit of a weakness for corbels.

I added trim and corbels to my kitchen cabinet peninsula…..

I completely changed the look of my entire fireplace by adding shiplap, trimming it out, painting the tile and…you guess it! Adding some corbels!

But did you know that I also add corbels here and there as decorative items?

Generally placed upside down I frequently use them in little vignettes and as bookends.

And I use them in any season too.

I currently have a set that has been safely tucked away in preparation for the day I finally get around to building my range hood. In my mind it’s going to have some corbels incorporated in the design.

But today I wanted to show you a little vignette I put together while cleaning my living room.

I promise you – corbels look good everywhere!

I always have my eyes open for them when I go thrifting or antiquing. The color doesn’t matter. I’ve been known to paint them many times.

If I find a set of them I snatch them up just in case I find a use for them where I need a set but when I use them in decor, I pretty much always use only one. This lovely just happens to be one of two that I bought for my range hood!

You won’t want to miss that transformation!

I really need to get my range hood built once and for all! Itโ€™s getting ridiculous how long Iโ€™ve been putting it off mostly because Iโ€™m finding getting the fan unit to fit what I have in place is tricky and intimidating ๐Ÿ˜„
