French Vintage Friday – A Hint Of Harvest Tablescape

I did it.

I got my fall decor bins out of my attic.

I didn’t mean to but I was looking for some of my wheat for styling my French Buffet the other day and I didn’t know what bin it was in. That meant I had to bring down the first 2 that I found to look in and when I found it in the 2nd bin I didn’t have to look any further or bring any more down.

But now I’m confused as to how many bins/boxes I put in the attic last year when I packed it all away because I’m missing things…..I thought I only had 2 bins but there are things unaccounted for so either I forgot (read “put it out of my mind”) that I had accumulated more by the end of last year OR The MR took a load to Goodwill when I wasn’t looking.

Hmmmm…..

Why don’t you have a look at these pics while I go search my attic!

My dining table is massive. It can seat 16 easily and more if needed. It’s been passed down through my husband’s family and because of that and how many it can seat, I’ve kept it.

I’ve changed it up a little on a couple occasions and the last time I did, I was in a rush and didn’t bother finishing the leaves that go in the middle of the table. That meant they were a slightly different color so I couldn’t use them. I got creative when I needed more table space than I could fit around it at it’s smallest and just put the kids at my vintage breakfast table!

It was time.

Time to stop putting this off and get the entire table ready for the Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts that are just around the corner.

Of course once I had the entire beast all ready to go and all the coats of poly dried, I just HAD to give a quick styling. The MR asked if we were having a dinner party that he didn’t know about and I said no, I just couldn’t resist…..

I added this very neutral table runner that just happens to have some fall leaves and acorns on it but in a very subtle way!

One of my favorite baskets with some lace on it and some flowers…..I added some greenery that has hints of fall color to it without being the usual fall colored leaves. Just hinting at the change of seasons….

I pretty much put some sort of candles on all my tablescapes but it’s especially important to me when it starts to head into fall and winter. There’s just something about the coziness and ambiance that the glow of candles creates….

Some wheat, some of my ironstone dish collection, gold flatware….

Simple embroidered linens….

Quick and easy to put together and perfect for this time of year when we are stuck just between summer ending and fall beginning.
