Yesterday Emily and I started sharing some Christmas in July inspiration. We started by choosing some of our favorite Christmas DIY’s.
Today we thought we would share some inspiration for styling open shelves for Christmas. Now I have only had these open shelves in my coffee nook for 2 Christmases but Emily has been styling amazing open shelves for years! Whenever I am feeling a bit stuck while styling my shelves (or anything else in my home for that matter) I go and scroll through Emily’s blog and Instagram account!
I’m very partial to a natural Christmas look with lots of bottle brush trees and little evergreens so of course that’s usually where I start with these shelves. Not only is it a look I like, but it makes it super easy to transition to winter after Christmas is over by simply removing a couple vintage Santas and any other pieces that scream CHRISTMAS!
Lots of sparkle and vintage Santasโฆโฆcan’t go wrong.
Brass candlesticks are a favorite of mine all year long but at Christmas they are perfection.
The little winter houses have been a favorite ever since I saw the ones Emily made a number of years ago now. I knew I had to make some of my own and one or two are always found on these shelves.
Another look on these shelves. As you can see there are some repeats like the trees, the little houses and touches of brass.
Spray painting pinecones in gold, sparkles, white or anything along those lines instantly elevates the look from a more rustic country vibe, to a more glamorous look.
I haven’t found a season or an occasion when old books didn’t look perfect!
The tiny white buildings were one of my diy’s from last year. So simple and so cute.
Every year I decide that THIS year is my favorite so I’m already thinking ahead to what I might want to do with these shelves THIS year.
