Christmas in July – A Taste Of Christmas

It’s that time again….the time to share a Christmas in July post like Emily and I promised to do every week this month.

Last week we shared a Christmas DIY and this week we will each be sharing a Christmas tablescape.

I don’t entertain very often. I’m pretty shy. But certain times of the year even I find that I WANT to entertain and have family and friends gathered around my table. When those rare events occur I always have a lot of fun dressing my table. It takes me a lot longer than dressing my Turkey!

I regularly start a tablescape with my DIY riser. It just helps to add some height and definition to the centerpiece.

One option is white daisies and red faux berries for a floral arrangement in a teapot…..

While in another variation I just put a faux evergreen in the teapot.

To be honest, the red and white striped linen napkins were the main inspiration for the entire tablescape on this one. I envisioned it elegant but natural with some rustic elements.

I’ve had these rusty bells for a couple years now. They were in groups of 2 tied with twine as a tree ornament but the moment I saw them I knew I would have a million uses for them. I took them apart and use them all over the place.

Ironstone and gold chargers layered with the napkins keep it simple and elegant.

Bottle brush trees and ironstone……is there anything these two things don’t look good with?

I have just started using some faux antlers in random places and I have to be honest – I’m loving them. They provide the natural elements that I have been craving lately.

I added some pinecones (cinnamon scented of course) and some tiny red tree ornaments.

All that’s left is to plan the menu!

Me too! Although I adore the summer and all the flowers and things, I seem to have a lot more decor for fall and winter for my home and spend a lot more time styling things. Likely because in the good weather I want to be outside all the time! lol. I wish we could find a way to grow all the flowers from summer in the fall and winter! lol
