December Magic – My 5 Favorite Christmas DIY’s

Can you believe it’s already the last day of July? Wow this summer is going by much faster than I want it to but I’m just trying to focus on one day at a time and make the most of each one.

That said, Emily and I decided to do one last Christmas in July post and then the next time you hear about Christmas from us it will be when we are getting ready to actually style our homes for the season!

Sound like a plan?

Oh good!

We decided to share our 5 favorite Christmas DIY’s that we have shared over the years.

I actually just made these glitter trees a few weeks ago for Christmas in July. I’ve had the trees for a couple years now and never liked how they looked but now I know they’re gonna be some of my favorites each year. You can see the full DIY HERE.

Last Christmas I made these vintage inspired stockings with a lovely ticking stripe fabric and some faux fur trim. I loved displaying them last year and I know they’re gonna also be top favorites each year from now on. You can see the full project HERE.

I always loved the idea of these cute little paper mache houses and especially how they looked with a little bit of something extra added to them when I saw how Emily added glitter to the roofs on hers. When they went on sale at my local Hobby Lobby I picked up a set of them (there are 3 different sizes in each pack) and proceeded to add my own touches to them. You can see the entire project HERE.

Sometimes it’s the simplest projects that turn out to be your favorites. That’s how it was with this little garland I threw together in minutes last year. I literally made it to use some little snowflakes I had laying around and now I’m going to be looking for more little snowflakes like them this year so I can make a whole bunch more of these garlands! Check out how simple they are to make HERE.

I made this sheet music garland a few years ago when I shared 5 different Christmas DIY’s all made with music. This one was one of the simplest to make but it remains a favorite that I bring out every Christmas and for other random seasonal decor since it’s so neutral. You can see how I put it together HERE.
