A Little Autumn Harvest Makeover

Last night I went to bed in the middle of summer and this morning I woke up in early fall.

I’m not kidding.

The breeze changed. The temperature dropped by about 100 degrees and I was able to put on a sweatshirt when I went outside early in the morning to water my flowers!

Of course that meant I had to rush back inside and fix myself a Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee and sip it by an open window with the amazing breeze blowing in.

THEN I decided I needed to DIY something and what better than the little Autumn inspired wooden buildings I bought at a Thrift Store last year?

This little mill complete with water wheel was not too bad from the start. It wasn’t quite my favorite colors but it was already pretty muted. I did decide it could use a facelift though just because…..

It’s like I can’t help myself.

I brought out my craft paint and artists brushes and set to work.

A short time later….

Some gray on the roof, some whitewash on the walls and some brown for the shutters and trim and it looked a lot more my style. It’s always been cute. I did also use a Fine Sharpie to write over the sign because when I first bought it you could barely read it anymore.

This little grain silo like building was next and it needed more urgent attention because it really was pretty bright and not my colors but overall its insanely cute! That’s why I snagged them when I saw them on the shelf at the Thrift Store!

A super pale aqua that almost looks white for the main building, some gray for the roof and door and it was SO much better! It really allows the branches and harvest vegetables to be the main focus rather than the brightly colored building. I can’t wait to figure out where these little things will go when I put out all my decor…..

If this beautiful cool day continues into tomorrow I might be forced to break out some pumpkins!

Until next time,
