A Cup Of Inspiration – Hey, Remember Me?

Just in case you wondered, I’m still alive and kicking over here. I thought you might have figured I had taken a permanent vacation since I was so quiet as of late but that’s simply not true. I’ve had the best of intentions on so many different days to blog something but life has been getting in the way each time I try.

Does it seem to you that the more we try to make holidays more about family and more intentional, that the faster they seem to speed by and the busier we seem to get? It seems like that to me…..

Even my Christmas decorating isn’t done yet but it’s so close that I keep planning every day to finish the last of it so I can check it off my list.

Now here I am this Sunday morning, sitting on the floor of my dining room, boxes strewn all around, most with just a couple things left inside them, trying to sort out the rest of my Christmas decor. What gets put out, what gets given away, what gets a facelift, what goes in the trash……and of course in the middle of that I have to decide it would be the perfect time to grab my laptop and start chatting with y’all!

I have the most wonderful plans to make the house smell like Christmas with all the baking of cookies and drying of citrus slices and making of hot apple cider. Alas I haven’t gotten to those things yet either.

So what sort of Christmas am I really striving for an not getting? The kind I remember…..

The kind with ice skates…

and sleds….

and lots and lots of snow…

and lacy cedar boughs that smell amazing….

a crackling fire to warm yourself by…

and presents piled high!

I could go on for hours. So many memories.

I probably should get back to decorating again so I can check that off my list once and for all and move on to the next thing…..

Like wrapping some more presents and hanging some more ornaments and maybe starting to bake those cookies!

Hopefully we can both take a break this time next week and share some things that inspired us!

Until then,
