French Vintage Friday – Salt & Pepper Shakers

I have a confession……I sort of stole these from my son……

I can explain…..

Ever since he could talk my youngest has been obsessed with trains. It was Chuggington and Thomas and eventually he grew out of those and it was old Steam Engines and the like. His room has been blue with trains for as long as we have lived in this house.

About a year ago my darling friend Emily sent a surprise box full of amazing treasures she had found here and there and in it she included these little salt and pepper shakers for my son.

Let me show you why….

He was over the moon excited and proudly put them on display on his desk and there they have remained ever since.

Until……

He decided a couple months ago that after most of his life with a blue bedroom full of trains, he wanted something different.

Don’t get me wrong, I can’t believe he made it this long without wanting a change of scenery. He doesn’t take after his mother in that respect!

But I was happy for a variety of reasons…..first I would have the chance to play around with his room and do something totally different which is super exciting to me BUT I would get the train salt and pepper shakers now!

After all, they wouldn’t work in his bedroom anymore.

As I was subtly sneaking off with them he caught me and made sure to inform me that although I could put them with my stuff now, they were still HIS!

Whatever….

To be honest, I wasn’t really listening.

I was already heading for the first spot I was going to put them.

On my open shelves in my coffee nook.
