Cozy Spelled C-A-N-D-L-E

Is anyone in love with candles as much as I am? (Other than Emily, of course)

I’m not sure if there is anything that can take a space or a vignette and instantly make it cozy like candles. It doesn’t hurt that I adore brass candlesticks eitherโ€ฆ..I mean that just gives me an excuse to collect more.

Or maybe the brass candlesticks give me excuses to get more candles?

Either way!

There is something I need to explain about my fireplace in my living room and candlesโ€ฆ.from fall all the way through late spring and sometimes even early summer, depending on the weather, my fireplace is used. Either in the early mornings and evenings to take the chill out of the main floor or all day long to heat the main floor. It casts so much heat when it is being used that I can’t put candles on my mantel or they get all crooked and melt.

That means that every summer I get to put candles on the mantel without worrying and trust me – I take advantage of that!

Candles are always a part of my hutch. Tucked inside, on the top, on the serving deckโ€ฆ..I don’t think I have ever styled it completely without candles.

You will ALWAYS find candles as part of my tablescapes. I love candlelight dinners (even thought someone in my house will inevitably turn on the chandelier claiming they can’t “see” their food!) and the dining table is always a safe place for candles.

What do I mean?

Well that and my mantel are some of the few places I can put candles and actually light them, that my very large Rottweiler’s tail can’t reach them. Lit candles are never safe at tail height.

Or anything breakable.

Or anything valuable.

Or anything that may be mistaken for a toy.

Even super simple tablescapes are so much cozier with some candles.

Fall decor just begs for candles.

And cozy blankets.

There is something about a real flame that you just can’t replace but for certain situation some battery operated candles are called for. Like for little Jack here.

I hope you agree that candles must be used liberally to create “cozy”.
