Christmas in July – Dear Santa, I Can Explain…

It isn’t my fault.

It’s the way this house was built…..I would have built a stone chimney and a real fireplace for you but I wasn’t around when this house was designed and built so you’ll have to forgive the gas fireplace.

Will it help if I still hang the stockings within easy reach and leave a key out for you?

My mantel has always been a favorite of mine to style and restyle ever since I built it. I seriously change it up about twice as often as any other surface in my home.

It’s changed quite a bit over the years though and it’s fun every now and then to look back at all the differences.

Not only has the look and style of my living room and fireplace wall changed a lot over the years – my phone has changed too, as you can clearly tell by the quality of the photos! lol

If I didn’t have a fireplace with mantel I would put in a faux mantel just so I could style it! I’ve even thought of putting a faux mantel in my dining room to give me one more!

This remains one of my favorites….

But as you can tell I never do the same thing twice.

I don’t even use the same stencil pattern for my tile when I repaint it!

And every year the room gets closer and closer to the way I want it.

My style.

My home.

You are so sweet! I think last year’s decor was my favorite yet and the most “me”. I am excited about this years already because I have gotten inspired by some of yours! lol. I can’t decide whether I have the most fun with my fall or winter decor though….
