A Dash Of Christmas And A Sprinkle Of Fun

Isn’t it fun to style shelves and cabinets in the kitchen for each season? There are so many little dishes and items that you can add some fun seasonal touches to.

Let me show you what I mean…..

Today Emily and I have decided to share our open shelves in our kitchens all decked out for Christmas. Now to be fair, she has open shelves in her kitchen and I have a cabinet that I took the doors off of!

Depending on the season, different collectibles and items take the forefront while others take a back seat awaiting a different season. This copper kettle for example…..during fall and winter it’s always on display some place in my kitchen or dining room.

Even a flour sifter can suddenly become a decoration if you have one that matches your kitchen colors! lol

Almost everything is fair game when it comes to holding bottle brush trees and other evergreens. You might say I’m a bit obsessed with trees for my winter/Christmas decor.

A gravy boat makes the perfect place to display some tiny drums…..and who says a tree topper has to be on a tree? I like thinking outside the box.

Pinecones look good everywhere this time of year. I love the texture they add to a vignette.

Ironstone just happens to make everything look good no matter the season…..

These poinsettias add the perfect splash of color here and there. They were originally on a garland and were the typical bright red that you see most poinsettias. I painted them using chalk paint a few years back to go better with my decor and now I’ve removed some of the flowers from the garland and placed them here and there…..

Sometimes this open cabinet houses mostly dishes.

Sometimes it houses mostly decor.

I never know from week to week but one thing I DO know…..I always have fun styling it!
