The 12 DIY’s Of Christmas – Sheet Music Stars

I’m not sure what made me think of making these stars….I didn’t see something like it and plan to get the supplies…..Honestly I think when I saw the pack of stars at Hobby Lobby is when it popped into my head. There is just something about sheet music that seems to suit winter and Christmas so well.

I’ve had this book of old sheet music for quite a while and you wouldn’t believe the number of crafts I’ve already made with it!

First I traced the stars on the music.

Then cut them out.

You could attach them to the stars using spray adhesive or mod podge but I had some double sided tape laying around so I chose to use that. I thought it would work well and prevent the sheet music from getting all wet and wrinkly.

Here is how they look with just the sheet music on them and that would have been just fine but I decided to go a step further.

What says Christmas more than gold and glitter? Okay, maybe a few things but….I simply took a paintbrush and brushed some mod podge along the edges and then sprinkled on the glitter. When it was dry I tapped off the excess.

This is the way I chose to leave them. They came with jute hangers on them and although I didn’t plan to hang them on a tree, I left the hangers on them in case I want to hang them some other year. I thought it would be cute to replace the jute with some ribbon and dress them up a bit more. They would also be cute with some embellishments at the top of them or along the edges….so many possibilities.

I tucked them in here and there in the little trees I have on top of my china hutch. Just to add a little sparkle….

I think they’re cute.

And just like that Aurora is all dressed for the season……for now anyways.

Until next time,
