Enjoying The Holly Days: Festive Napkin Rings

I woke up this morning bursting with crafting energy and all sorts of lovely ideas. A quick look in my stash of craft supplies and I realized my ideas were more plentiful than my supplies! Oh well, I could get a few fun things done….

I recently saw some napkin rings similar to the ones I’m going to show you here, but they were rather pricey so of course frugal little me thought – I could make those for so much less.

And I did!

Here are all the supplies you will need to make them. Please note that the most important item in this entire project, is the fresh, steaming, pumpkin spice latte! That’s non-negotiable.

For each napkin ring you will want two short pieces of greenery (I like the lacy look of juniper or cedar as opposed to traditional pine), and one small bow. You can use very narrow lace as I did for some of mine, or you can use narrow ribbon. Either works just fine.

Using your hot glue, you will want to glue the two pieces of greenery leaving a tiny gap between them. I sort of angled one piece slightly upwards and the other slightly downwards just to make them more interesting and natural looking.

Next you will glue your little bow on with a dab of hot glue, and then add your tiny pinecone.

I chose the tiny pinecones because I wanted a natural look. Sort of reminiscent of Christmas past when most of the decorations came from the woods surrounding the home. However you could put all sorts of different, tiny little things in the middle.

A faux diamond.

A tiny snowflake.

A cinnamon stick or two.

A cute little button.

A tiny ornament.

Or maybe a jingle bell.

No matter what you choose, it’s bound to be super cute!

Here are a few finished ones, all ready for me to set the table.

So of course I had to comply. I mean, I couldn’t really show you what they looked like unless I used them properly, right?

And just like that a tablescape was born. Sometimes it’s the smallest detail that makes the biggest impact. I’m loving how these look with my natural tablescape.

They are the perfect compliment to the rustic log candlesticks I made. Sometimes simple is best.

Another idea would be to put a tiny closepin in the center of the bow and use them for place cards or even to clip a tiny vintage picture in.

SO many options….so little time….

For a special treat, Emily is going to share another Christmas diy with us! I always enjoy her projects so much.
