January Joy – A Simple And Elegant Wreath

Sometimes it’s the simplest little projects that pack the biggest punch!

Hello there! Want a cup of coffee and a chat?

Oh good! How about you keep me company while I make a little wreath?

You see, last fall when I was pulling out all my garden plants and putting everything away for winter, one of my tomato cages broke. When I saw the metal ring that had come off the cage I instantly thought of a wreath form so I saved it.

This week it came in very handy. I needed something to take the place of my Merry Christmas sign over my mantel and this was just the ticket!

The only supplies I used was some faux wired greenery, a small piece of floral wire and the metal wreath frame.

I twisted a small piece of floral wire around the start of the wired garland to keep it in place and then just started wrapping the garland around the wreath frame.

If you wanted to make a wreath that had some of the metal showing I’d simply put a coat of Rub ‘n’ Buff on the frame first so it was prettier. I didn’t bother because my plan was to cover the form.

Each time you wrap the form just make sure you are wrapping it around in a bare spot so that it is all covered by the time you are done.

Here it is fully wrapped. You could easily wire on some flowers at the bottom, some bottle brush trees or dozens of other things. I wanted this very plain and simple due to all the other things going on above my mantel so I simply tied a white ribbon bow with long tails at the top of the wreath.

Simple but very effective.
