Hi! I’m Tara, aka Stilettos and Shiplap. I am a mom of kids and dogs. My passion is for all things French and Vintage and I haven’t met a DIY I wasn’t willing to tackle with a little know-how and a whole lot of determination! To me designing is like play. I don’t always follow every design rule – I follow my heart!
Here are some random facts about me:
- Yes, I do wear stilettos. Not typically while installing shiplap but I wouldn’t put it past me to try sometime just to prove it could be done! My point is – you can be a “girly-girl” and still tackle home improvement projects around your home and use power tools while doing it!
- I have 3 dogs but only one is “mine”. She is a Rottweiler/Pitbull mix who thinks she is a tiny lap dog. She is my best friend and photobombs a lot of my pictures because she is always with me no matter where I go or what I’m doing.
- I don’t believe you have to be rich to make your home and yard beautiful and inviting – I’m living proof. It just takes more creativity and elbow grease….and a LOT of patience!
- My personal design style I’d call French Vintage. I love discovering as many stories behind the things in my home as possible and have dreamed most of my life of restoring really old homes to their former glory. So far that dream hasn’t come true but I never stop dreaming!
- I do all my projects on my own so if I can do it, you can too and I’d love to show you how.
