When Inspiration Doesn’t Strike…

Hey y’all! I’ve missed you…..

I really have. Missed blogging and missed having things to share with y’all but no matter what I did, inspiration wasn’t striking. I think it was social distancing.

From me.

Does that happen to you too? Oh good! I’m glad I’m not alone in this.

I’ve even left my decor “as is” for maybe as long as 1.5 months and that could possibly be a record for me. I don’t ever leave things alone that long.

It’s crazy how no thrifting, no shopping other than online and being at home with your own company all the time just takes all the creativity right out of a person.

I’ve always enjoyed gardening and “playing in the dirt” but this year, more than ever, being outside in nature is one of the only things that has felt right and brought me joy.

Are you finding the same thing?

I think maybe being “locked up” at home for months now is part of the problem but rather than feel safe and cozy in my home, I have been feeling trapped. Cabin fever, perhaps.

On the bright side, my flowerbeds have never looked this good! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve spent more time on this porch in the past few weeks to a month, than I think I have in the entire time I’ve lived here.

It helps that I did actually finish some projects out here so I have some nice comfy rocking chairs to sit in and also this DIY bench that I made from our old baby crib.

Rest assured, inspiration will strike again and I will once again have multiple projects on the go all at the same time. I just can’t say when exactly that will be but a good sign is that yesterday I suddenly restyled my open kitchen cabinets, my french buffet and the shelving in my dining room.

I’d say that’s a win!

Then I dragged everything out of my walk-in closet, spread it all around my bedroom and then realized the size of the job I’d just taken on!

Now I’m wishing I’d just stopped after the restyling win!

What are some things you do when you are feeling uninspired? I’d love to hear….

See you soon, my friends.

Such a great post!! This year has been soooo hard!! Iโ€™m so glad that itโ€™s gardening season and like you, Iโ€™ve been spending a lot of time outside. I canโ€™t say that my flower beds are looking all that good yet, but things are starting to look better, and hopefully by the end of the season, theyโ€™ll be looking good!
Loved this post!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all. Iโ€™m sure so many can relate to this right now.

Yes, I think a lot of people are experiencing things and feelings that maybe they haven’t ever experienced before. I’d like to say I have found a way to get past this and “back to normal” but I haven’t. Suggestions welcome! lol
