Spring Has Sprung Onto The Mantel!

I’m sitting and writing this blog with my windows open, and the fresh air and sounds of the birds is nearly driving me crazy! I want to be outside. Preferably digging in the flowerbeds and planting things!

Alas, it’s still a tiny bit cool for that but I’m expecting to be able to do so any day now.

Meanwhile, I have been working on more things on the inside of my home.

Y’all know I’ve been plugging away at my Nagging Unfinished Projects and have completed 2 of those so far. I’m on to #3 but took a little break to finish my mantel for spring because….well….it’s SPRING!

Good reason, right?

A few weeks ago I showed y’all the DIY painted clay pots I made for my mantel.

Did you really think I was done with it at that point?

Wrong!

Obviously I had to put some vintage books up there. I knew I wanted some lavender as well but had a really hard time finding something to put the lavender in.

I was looking for old buckets but never could find any so I went to Walmart to get some shiny aluminum ones and planned to rust and age them myself with a vinegar solution.

Then I found these.

I liked them well enough as they were and I can always still age them some if I like. I really like the shape of them.

To me, the piece de resistance are those amazing vintage windows. I love them!

I layered in this darling oval frame I found on a recent thrifting expedition (I actually found 2 matching ones. Can you believe it?)

I think I need a closer look. ๐Ÿ˜€

As you can see, my clay flower pots are still on the mantel but I’ve arranged them a little differently now.

Except hopefully I still spelled “spring” correctly ๐Ÿ˜€

Here it is all together! Even Midnight loves it.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for your spring mantel or any other place in your home that needs a little touch of spring charm.

I’m so anxious to see what Emily did on her mantel for spring as well, aren’t you?

Let’s take a peek…..
