Iโm not sure what the weather has been like where you are but here we have been having an incredible winter!
Typically winter for me is a lot of rain and gray, foggy days punctuated by a month or so of random snow and ice and yuck. Can you tell Iโm not a fan? Then finally one day spring arrives and we get rain for a few weeks, almost continuously, and then suddenly?
Itโs lovely.
The sun gets back from its sabbatical and shines nearly every day and everything comes to life so quickly that you can almost watch it grow in front of your very eyes.
This year though we have had so much more sun than usual and exceptionally mild temperatures. That has, of course, put me into a decidedly โspringyโ mood MUCH sooner and while I am still unable to be planting things outside, I have to content myself with bringing spring into my home in full force ๐.
Wanna know what I did this past week?
Oh good!
This is what I did. I went shopping. This is the listing that caught my eye.
Now I have horrible luck most of the time on Facebook Marketplace but this week the stars were aligned! Instead of having the listing I was interested in already be snapped up within minutes, I was able to get these lovely vintage chairs!
Arenโt they cute?
They are in nearly perfect condition and I got BOTH of them for $40! Beat that!
The color of them is a little unusual for my typical choice of furniture but I really love the unexpected pop, especially to get the ball rolling on my fresh look for spring!
If I change anything at all about them I might strip the wooden bits back to a natural wood but then again, I might not either. Iโm in love with how they look by my fireplace.
Youโve heard of the domino effect though, right?
Now my large gold couch isnโt looking that great with the new chairs. I had planned to re-cover the seat cushions on it and leave the frame as is…..I have this funny feeling I might be taking on my first couch reupholstery project very soon! ๐. I havenโt decided how crazy Iโm feeling yet.
In the meantime I think Iโll just sit on the gold couch and look at my โnewโ chairs because that way I donโt have to look at the couch and chairs together and I can keep my head firmly buried in the sand ๐
Midnight is pretty impressed with the chairs too.
Maybe I should just add some more tulips to my mantel and call it a day ๐
Maybe I should take you for a visit to Emilyโs to see what she is doing for spring at her house. Click on the photo below with me.
Wow! Such an amazing find! I love the chairs! And to find them as a pair, even better!! They really add so much to the space! Everything is looking so fresh and spring-y!! I can hardly wait to see what you do to your gold sofa!
Happy Sunday, my friend!
You know me too well! You know that itโs very likely I WILL take on the challenge myself ๐
The chairs look great in your room. I love the color with the rest of your furniture. I am sure whatever you decide to do with the wood will looks amazing.
Thanks, Terrie. The only thing I’m really not liking is my gold couch now. I like the color of the chairs upholstery but it makes the couch look blah and sort of pinkish gold. I just have to determine if I want to try and find a “new” couch all over again or if I really want to take on such a huge upholstery project! Chairs are one thing but a couch is a beast unto itself.
Those chairs are FABULOUS! What a steal! And they look perfect next to your fireplace!
Thank you! I was so excited to get them in such good condition and for so little . Thatโs unheard of in the area Iโm in!
These are such a great facebook marketplace find! Finding a new piece always gets me rearranging and planning on changing things up to .
Same with me! It seems that it always creates a domino effect and next thing I know my whole room is turned upside down all thanks to one tiny addition.
What an amazing find! I can’t believe you only paid $40 for those! You’re amazing!
Happy day friend!

Oh thank you! Youโre too kind! I sure did and I canโt believe I got them for only $40 either. In the area I live, everything good is MAJORLY overpriced and everything else is a piece of junk – even for a serial DIYer like me ๐
