Do you like to be outside almost more than inside?  I sure do!  Now clearly this front patio area still needs some love but that’s no reason not to decorate for the 4th of July, right?  The biggest eyesore here is the stained up concrete floor…..trust me I will be putting down some outdoor rugs just as soon as I can find some I like that don’t break the bank!

Okay!  Would you believe me if I told you I created this space almost entirely from Dollar Tree?  Well if you have been following my blog at all, then you probably would believe that by now!  Remember the little 4th of July Mirrored Shelf?  Or the festive Tablescape?

final (7)Every time I went to Dollar Tree since they brought out their patriotic decor, I’ve been trying to find an excuse to get these little paper lanterns!  Obviously they wouldn’t work with any of my indoor spaces but they were the perfect thing for this patio space!  I didn’t actually bother putting any batteries in them so these ones won’t light up but they do have that option if you want to get yourself some.  $3 for all 3 of these cuties!

final (8)I already had the adirondack chairs in this space and wanted some festive throw pillows to support the red, white and blue I had in mind.  I couldn’t find what I wanted for a good price and just yesterday I was stalking a friends blog (she has the most amazing decor ideas that are also budget friendly) and saw her idea for making throw pillow covers out of bandanas!  If you haven’t heard of her, go check out Terrie’s amazing website and blog for tons of ideas www.decorateandmorewithtip.com !  If you don’t know how to sew or don’t own a sewing machine, I was thinking that with a neutral pillow underneath, you could easily take the bandanas (one on each side of the pillow) and tie them in the corners.  I think that would also be a really cute look!  Total for these pillows?  $4 for all 4 pillows since the bandanas came in packs of 2.

Okay now for one of my favorite parts of this little area….the washtub!  I was recently at a friend’s getting some perennials for my garden.  She had several of these old wash tubs laying around and when I inquired about them, she gave me one!  New favorite item!  I can think of about 1,000 ways to use this ๐Ÿ™‚  For this particular setting I chose to place it upside down and top it with a couple pieces of reclaimed wood to make a little table.  As you can tell those things didn’t cost me anything.

final (5)I topped the washtub with a little lantern that I recently got at Burlington Coat Factory for under $6, a vintage glass canning jar with little foam star picks and white flowers, both from Dollar Tree (total $4) and the little red metal bucket was from Walmart and cost approximately $3.  I love it’s little rope handle!

All I need now is some ice cold sweet tea and some good company.  Wanna come over?

Enjoy!
