It’s All About The Fall Vibes: Welcome To My Kitchen

Have you ever noticed that the more you make changes to some rooms in your home, the more it makes others feel off? Rooms that at one time seemed just fine or perhaps had even had lots of their own work done in them now are just seeming all wrong?

Yup! That’s where I’m at with my kitchen!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad it doesn’t look like it used to. It’s come a long way. But the more I do to my living room, the more my kitchen is just screaming for a little more of my attention and some love of its own.

I hear you, kitchen. I’m coming. We have so many things to talk about. It’s your turn next ?

Welcome to my kitchen

Won’t you come in? You can sit at the counter and I’ll get you some coffee and a piece of warm apple pie.

Just a few simple touches on my countertops bring fall into my kitchen. Because we spend a lot of time in this area, I like to keep the counters pretty clear and usable.

It probably sounds silly but taking the doors off this cabinet is one of the best things I’ve done in this kitchen! I love being able to display some of my favorite pieces of ironstone and vintage treasures in this open cabinet and it makes the kitchen feel so much more inviting and gives it so much more personality than it had before. Don’t believe me? Try it!

Rather than go out and buy all new fall decor this year, I painted all the fall leaves and some of the flowers that I used last year in a color palette that spoke to me more this year . Do you recognize any of the same things that you would have seen in last years tour?

The kids and I love to have little tea parties once the weather starts to get cold. I store some of our little tea cups in this cubby. I love the old wood it’s made from and I have the most darling little ceramic numbers to put on each little shelf. A couple little fall salt and pepper shakers are all it takes to make this look perfectly festive!!!

I have an obsession with copper and brass anyways, especially copper, but don’t you find they are the perfect thing for fall? An ordinary copper piece can look like seasonal decor.

Vintage treasures look perfect everywhere! Don’t you think?

Can I get you more pie?

Until next time…

Now let’s go see Emily’s kitchen…

Me too! I’ve been picturing my kitchen for so long in my head and I’m going crazy wanting to see it in reality as it could be. Plus I don’t have much patience when it comes to diy ?
