Lavender.
You know what I mean.
Go ahead. Close your eyes.
You’re envisioning a whole field full of softly rippling rows of lavender tickling your senses with purple scented air, aren’t you?
That’s what I see. And little narrow stone streets lined with shops, many displaying baskets full of little tied bundles of lavender.
Whether it’s fresh or dried or sometimes even faux, you’ll find lavender all throughout my home no matter what time of year it is.
Nearly every spring I plant some more lavender outside and as soon as it’s blooming I start bringing little bundles inside.
It’s the perfect thing for a simple basket for my front door.
For filling vases or vintage ironstone soup tureens.
Or for decorating your mantel.
But just between us?
Filling the perfect shaped basket with deep purple lavender is my favorite thing of all.
It makes my heart skip a beat.
And I feel kind of giddy.
And sometimes, when nobody is looking, I dance a little!
