French Vintage Friday: More Vintage Books

What a beautiful Friday! It’s been so sunny and warm where I live lately that my spring fever is in full swing and it’s all I can do to resist spending all day every day digging in the dirt, planting things and watching things grow.

Don’t be fooled into thinking I’m not doing any of that, however. I have been planting a few things. Things that don’t mind some chilly nights.

Meanwhile, since I can’t be outside as much as I’d like quite yet, I’m working on a few projects inside. That means occasionally I HAVE to visit some antique stores and today was one of those days. It’s been months since I darkened the door of one and I was quite certain I might have to break into song when I opened the door and walked into my favorite consignment store today.

I may have looked around to make sure nobody was watching and then done a little skip.

Maybe….

I’m not going to show you everything that insisted on coming home with me today but I do want to show you a couple things.

I know I’ve already shared vintage books for French Vintage Friday but that was before.

Before the ones that sang out to me as I walked past the booth they were hanging out in today.

At first I thought it was birds…

Or maybe crickets….

Then I realized it was singing…..almost like an angel choir and I just HAD to find the source.

After some searching I spied where it was coming from.

Nedra was singing!

Along with the daughter of Anderson Crow – whoever she is.

And then Nellie’s sweet voice joined in…..

When I spied the copyright dates I was done for! These lovely ladies were coming home with me.

While Nellie’s Memories does not have a copyright date anywhere inside the book, I did a little research and found reference to the fact that this title was printed between 1840 and 1909 so I’m assuming my copy was printed somewhere in there.

Have I mentioned how vintage books belong in every room of your home? That and chandeliers, of course.

Just saying……

Aren’t they though? Yes, I’m pretty happy with that wallpaper still as well. Can’t decide if I want to put the same paper in my desk nook off my kitchen or not…..still mulling that over.
