French Vintage Friday: May I Borrow Some Sugar?

Am I the only one who is really confused this spring as to what season we are in?

One day I will walk outside and feel like it’s late fall approaching winter and expect to see little hats and scarves on my perennials and the next day I will walk outside all dressed up for winter and feel like I should be packing a bag for the beach! It’s sure been messed up where I live this spring. I think everything is expressing it’s disgust at Covid – even the weather!

Regardless what the weather is doing I am so excited it’s Friday again because that means it time to share something for French Vintage Friday. I so look forward to this each week and can barely wait until Emily’s post goes live as well to see what she is sharing.

I think she’s gonna like what I’ve got this week! It’s rather “close to home” for her….

I love vintage feed sacks, flour sacks, oat sacks, sugar sacks……anything really. When I spied a stack of sugar sacks recently I think I gasped out loud! Most of them were stamped from some place in Montana but when I found this little gem, proudly stamped with Salt Lake City, Utah – I knew it was meant to be mine.

Why?

Glad you asked. Because it’s quite near to where my best friend Emily lives, that’s why!

There are so many things you can do with these little sacks but I chose to frame it in a very simple black frame to preserve it and allow me to display it.

I have it in my bookcase turned display cabinet for now but you have to know it’s gonna move all over the place in due time!

I think the black background and nearly nonexistent frame is the perfect way to bring all the attention to the old sugar sack, don’t you?
