French Vintage Friday: Decorative Plates

Okay don’t get alarmed! I’m not suggesting I have the desire to start collecting those decorative plates that you can find with every state or flower or event on it. No problem if you have a bunch of those and display them proudly, that’s just not me.

I’m referring to old ones, usually with a pastoral village scene or some such other idyllic place.

This particular one was a recent find, newer vintage, roughly 35+ years old. I’ve seen many much older ones as well and there is just something about them that I like. Something sort of nostalgic about them don’t you think?

They make a cheerful backdrop in your china hutch for some of your more sedate and plain pieces as well. Just saying….

I like to sprinkle them here and there – not too many. I just get the ones that really speak to me and I thought I’d share this one first.

Have a wonderful weekend and here’s hoping you get a few minutes to go treasure hunting for a decorative plate or two.

Until next week….
