French Vintage Friday: Brass Pitcher

I like brass. Pretty sure you already know that.

Did you know I also like pitchers? Yup!

White ones…..Oh! Ironstone ones.

Brass ones.

Vintage china ones.

I don’t normally use pitchers for something to drink. I’m more likely to use them for flowers.

This particular beauty is the perfect size and shape so I use it quite often.

Even when I’m not using it for flowers, it’s making my house look pretty on a shelf somewhere.

As you can probably see, I usually put a plain glass cylindrical vase or more often an old canning jar inside the pitcher. This is what I fill with water and put the actual flowers in. This trick also lets you use containers for flowers that you couldn’t otherwise if maybe they aren’t watertight, for example.

Thanks for stopping by this week. If you need me I’ll just be over here arranging some fresh flowers in my brass pitcher….
