French Vintage Friday: Brass Adds Just A Little Class

I have a thing for brass. Any time of the year will do but especially in the colder parts of the year. There’s just something about the warmth of the tones of copper and brass that make me feel cozy.

I recently found this darling brass pitcher and knew immediately that it would like never be used for any type of beverage. This was the perfect thing for a vase!

I like to put a glass cylindrical vase or jar into any containers that I need to put water into if they weren’t originally designed to hold water. Now likely this WAS designed to hold liquid but just to be on the safe side, I did my usual trick. This time I used a canning jar.

Just slip it into the desired container, fill it up with water and start arranging the flowers.

We’ve still got warm enough weather to have fall flowers blooming and I’m enjoying making the most of them. I raided my small cutting garden for this arrangement and gathered anything that was open.

I often put flower arrangements up on something to bring the focus to them. The beautiful and cheery flowers likely do the trick all by themselves but I like them to make a real statement. In this case I used a glass cakestand and put some faux fall leaves around the base of the brass pitcher.
