Clearance Challenge: One Item, Four Looks

To be perfectly transparent, this challenge was quite a challenge for me. As y’all know by now, I’m moving. That being said most of my “pretties” are in boxes and what’s left is sorta random. Also it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to be buying new things when I’m trying to get my current things into boxes. Talk about making more work for yourself.

I got talking to Emily (Le Cultivateur) a few days ago and she reminded me that I had purchased several things on clearance when I was staging my home for sale. Although they sort of appeared in some of the photos of the house already, I didn’t really showcase any of them. Well it’s your lucky day!

The Rules

As always we have purchased our item(s) from any store(s) but they must be on clearance and must cost no more than $15 total. If we revamp them in any way we must show what we did to them and also show how we styled them for use in our homes.

My Find

I got my little planter at Marshalls but here is a very similar one on Amazon.

I’ve always thought these little bicycle planters are cute but I almost passed right by this one until I spotted the red clearance tag. I don’t recall the original price now but what’s important is that I got it for $10! That’s right!

Now mine is a simpler design than the one above but it’s cute as a button.

I didn’t need to do anything to it because it was perfect exactly as it was.

I don’t need to tell you that there are countless way you could use this…..live potted plants, food items with a cloth napkin placed inside on a buffet table, succulents, vintage treasures, faux plants, live or faux greenery…..I could be here all day listing ideas.

As I said most of my things are packed but here are 4 ideas of how to style one that I threw together with some things I had left laying around.

Or perhaps something like this:

Here’s another possibility:

Or you could always do something like this:

Okay now I have to put some of these things BACK into the boxes. Yes, I actually did end up opening one box that was already packed just to style some of these pictures. I couldn’t help it.

I don’t think I will ever run out of places to put this little bicycle or ways to style it. I really think it was $10 very well spent, don’t you?
