Clearance Challenge: Q-Tips & Cottonballs

I wasn’t sure I would be able to participate in the Clearance Challenge this month what with being in the middle of preparing to list my home for sale and all. There is just so much going on that shopping for clearance deals seemed pretty far down on the list of important things. I wasn’t about to discount it altogether though (see what I did there?) because after all I was looking for some things to stage some of the rooms so what if I found something on clearance that I needed for staging? I’m always looking for a bargain.

It could happen.

It did happen.

The Rules

As y’all know by now, we must spend no more than $15 total on the item(s) from any number of stores and the item(s) must be on clearance. Then we show you what changes we have made to the item(s), if any, and how we styled it in our homes.

My Finds

So I was in Marshalls looking for a shower curtain for my Master Bath and a few other items (which I didn’t actually find there, by the way) and thought I’d comb over their clearance items just in case they had anything that would work for any of my rooms. At my Marshalls, they have several places in various parts of their Home Decor section where they have Clearance items. Parts of rows or end caps of aisles. It ends up being quite a lot of things.

I was seriously thinking of getting some apothecary jars for my master bath anyways so was thrilled to find some on clearance for $3 each. They had 2 difference styles so I grabbed one of each style.

My final discovery for this challenge was this darling little cherub. She was on clearance for $8 which was the perfect amount to bring me in under my allowed budget and was too cute to leave behind. I knew just what I would do with her.

Styling My Finds

Here is what I did with my finds! I cleaned the apothecary jars really well and filled them with cotton balls and q-tips for my counter.

Nothing at all needed to be done to the little angel. She already had some little touches of blush here and there and I loved the color she was so I didn’t change her in any way.

She does, however, remind me of a little garden figurine so I immediately thought of flowers. Specifically lavender.

Just a few little sprigs tucked in around her.

I’m happy with the results and not only did I manage to find something for another clearance challenge, I also found some items I was looking for to “pretty” up my master bathroom all at the same time.
