What started as a random idea, turned into so much fun that a lot of bloggers wanted to do it again. I am of course referring to the time that a group of 11 bloggers got together, took an inspiration photo from Pinterest and all did our own take on it for Valentine’s Day and then shared what we did.
This challenge is being hosted by Cindy from County Road 407.
For this challenge, we are taking our inspiration from Lisa.

So for this challenge basically we are all creating some form of spring table centerpiece using a container of sorts and spring inspired items. That’s all as far as the rules.

Let’s get started!
This is Ms. Birdie. She is really the one who inspired this whole centerpiece. I was looking for something to be the focal point, thinking of spring creatures, lambs etc and she just called to me.
I’ve always loved birds but this spring for some reason they’ve really been appealing. Perhaps it’s the extra dose of late winter snows we got? The seemingly endless, dreary gray days without sun?
Regardless, she was the perfect thing and while waiting to put my centerpiece together, she has found many lovely homes all around my living room and kitchen!
The most difficult thing for me was the base container, to be honest. I was wanting something unusual and have looked everywhere within my small area with it’s limited options and have found nothing that really seemed to be the right thing.
In the end I got this beautiful wooden trough from Hobby Lobby.
I immediately fell in love with the rich tone of the wood, the rope handles on each end and the rustic, reclaimed look it has.
With a 40% off coupon it wasn’t a bad price either.
It’s large enough for when my table has its leaves in without being ridiculously dwarfed, yet allows room to eat at the table when it is at its smallest.
I purchased a basic nest complete with easter eggs. After removing those brightly colored eggs, I added some wildflowers and some small, pale green eggs that were a much better size for Ms. Birdie.
The final DIY was to paint some clay pots like I did for my spring mantel flower pots. I have a long way to go before I can master this like Emily over at Le Cultivateur, but practice makes perfect, right?
After that it was simply a matter of arranging the pots, nest, flowers and a little loose moss. I broke one of the pots (on purpose, I swear!) to nestle in here and there.
The final touch was perching Ms. Birdie on the top, proudly watching over her nest and eggs.
So far she is very happy here! She hasn’t tried to find a new home once, since I made this little home for her ๐
Honestly I think this is one of my favorite centerpieces ever.
I can think of so many things that I want to do now in terms of place settings to go with this centerpiece!
And I really want to have a little dinner party.
But I suppose that might frighten Ms. Birdie a little.
Now excuse me while I go open up my windows and then go dig around in my flowerbeds.

This month's Pinterest Challenge was a lot of fun, wasn't it? I am amazed at how different all of our centerpieces turned out, but also similar. Love your sweet birdie and I'm glad you found a dough bowl/box! I saw some really amazing ones at High Point Market a year+ ago but knew it wouldn't get home safely in my suitcase. Still looking for one!
