All Things Warm & Cozy : Thrift Store Challenge Hop

Today I’m joining some fellow bloggers on a unique and very fun challenge. We’ve done some similar ones before and always have a really wonderful time on these challenges.

Here are the rules:

We must purchase only items from 1 thrift store of our own choosing and must keep a very thrifty budget in mind.

We can alter the items if we wish.

We can add items that we already own to help style our thrifted items.

Are you ready?

I’ll provide links to the other participants at the end of this blog post.

Our only “theme” for this challenge, if you want to call it that, is that we all were to create something warm and cozy being that for most of us it’s still a rather cold and uninviting world outside.

To me you can’t get much cozier than books. Give me something warm to drink, a cozy blanket, a comfy spot to curl up and a good book and I’m pretty content. Clearly my eyes would be open for some lovely vintage books while thrifting.

While I didn’t find any books to add to my collection this time, I did find this lovely plant to trail along some of the treasured books I already have. Doesn’t it just add a little something to these beauties?

To me brass is a very warm and cozy metal. Whether it’s a candlestick which also lends itself to a cozy feel or a vase like this one, it doesn’t matter. It says cozy to me. This and the lovely faux ranunculus blooms inside of it were also found on my thrift run. The other items I already owned.

The bend in this brass candlestick just adds to it’s charm! Paired with a little nosegay of faux roses and the sheet music wrapped vase I made a while back and it whispers of yesteryear.

My final thrifted items for this particular challenge were these peonies. It was love at first sight for me because I am obsessed with peonies anyways and these were especially delicate and beautiful ones. However when I paired them with another favorite of mine – this stunning corbel, it nearly took my breath away.

It really was that simple.

Put it all together and you have this.

I bet you didn’t think a simple piece of furniture like this could qualify as “cozy” but it says cozy to me.

It also says “charming”.

“Romantic”

“Timeless”

“Nostalgic”

And many other words…..

These same pieces could be placed in SO many other locations and be just as cozy and romantic and charming. I just chose to place them here so I could show them to you all at once.

I hope this has inspired you to do some thrifting of your own.

Now as promised, here are the other bloggers that have joined this challenge as well!
