Welcome back to another cup of inspiration! Each Sunday morning I share some things that I stumbled across during the week that inspired me and I hope that they inspire you as well.
Since we are quickly approaching Thanksgiving I’ve been mostly searching for and sharing Thanksgiving ideas. Without further delay let’s get started!
You know white pumpkins are my absolute favorite followed closely by the heirloom blush and blue colored ones, right? Well you can’t go wrong with a white pumpkin Thanksgiving tablescape. Isn’t this one amazing?
We are going to take a quick skip forward so I can share this amazing Christmas Tree idea. We can go back to Thanksgiving ideas in a minute. I mean, y’all know we plan to unbox the tree and start Christmas decorating the moment Thanksgiving dinner is cleared away! Anyways I’m in love with this tree and how it’s decorated with the natural elements like orange slices and pinecones. I can only imagine how good it smells too!
I’ve never been much into the shiny sparkly glam look but for some reason the odd time it does catch my eye and this is one of those times. I’m fascinated by the idea of a plain wood board as the base for this glam tablescape including shiny metallic pumpkins and one of my favorite things this year – “blonde leaves”. As an added bonus the post includes a number of different style tablescapes perfect for Thanksgiving dinner.
Last week we had several freeze warnings. I knew if I left my garden un-harvested it would freeze hard and I’d lose whatever vegetables I had left. But if I picked every last thing it probably wouldn’t freeze and I’d have a bunch of things like green tomatoes to deal with. I decided that was the better option.
I have vivid and fond memories of my grandmother’s Green Tomato Chow. I don’t have her recipe and I haven’t ever made it but it was amazing! While searching for a similar recipe I found this one for Green Tomato Relish and thought I’d give it a try. I made a batch of it and I have to say it’s pretty good. It’s not the same as my grandma’s but then what ever is? Still I’d recommend this recipe.
Then while searching for something completely unrelated I tripped across this recipe (isn’t that always how it works?) for Green Tomato Chow-Chow that looks and sounds just like my grandma’s. I haven’t tried it yet but plan to this afternoon! I can’t wait!
